VIRTUS® Protecting God's Children Adult Awareness Session is a three-hour training that helps clergy, staff, volunteers for schools and churches (i.e., ushers, lectors, eucharistic ministers, choir members/leaders), and parents (who wish to volunteer) to understand the facts and myths about child sexual abuse how perpetrators operate and how caring adults can take five important steps to keep children safe.
The parent session also stresses monitoring of computers, cell phones and other technology that perpetrators use to gain access to children and young people.
Children are NOT allowed to come to the class due to the adult content and nature of the class.
Who needs to take the class and be fingerprinted?
Clergy
Church and School Staff
Church Ministry Leaders and Members (i.e., ushers, lectors, eucharistic ministers, choir members/leaders)
School Volunteers (this includes parents, family members, and friends who want to volunteer at the school)
